Elements of our program
Practical life
The children participate in practical life activities such as preparing snack, dressing themselves and learning to care for the environment which gives them a growing sense of independence as well as creating a sense of community within the classroom.
Language
Language development is encouraged through the use of materials to improve vocabulary, extend conversational language as well as activities to encourage pre-writing preparation.
Sensorial
The sensorial area of the classroom helps children develop a sense of order and differentiation between shapes, colors, size, sound and texture which sets the groundwork for pre-math skills.
Art
We implement the Reggio Emila approach to art making. We offer process based art inquiries to encourage creativity and exploration. The children are given opportunities to do research about their world through the art making process.
Play
We encourage the use of play as a means for children to understand their world. We also believe in the importance of outside time for the healthy development of sensory integration in young children. Each day we spend time playing outdoors whether it be warm or cold, rain or shine!
